Annecy - what you missed... |
|
|
Congratulations to the organisers of the wonderful Annecy Animation Festival - celebrating 50 years. It was brilliant to see Fantastic Mr Fox win the best feature film award, along with many other stop motion films performing well in the competition...
Stop Motion Pro has been part of this globally significant cultural event
since 2003. This year we demonstrated how simple it is to create a 3D film . On display was a full animation set
built by Gilles
Sorlin , Canon DLSR cameras, Mark Roberts 3D
stepper units, and the Stop Motion Pro 3D viewer.

 |
| Visitors to our stand were treated to making their own stereo animation,
then using our stereoscopic viewing solution to watch the 3D animation
instantly at 30 frames per second! The image above shows a camera on the Mark Roberts stepper unit, the
Stop Motion Pro preview interface is on the right. Just to the left of
the camera is the stereo viewer that is used to merge the parallel
images on screen, giving the 3D effect. |

|
| Visitors to the Stop Motion Pro booth also discovered the wonderful range of armatures made by Animation Supplies , thanks to Jo and Andy who were guests on our stand. |
 |
| The Stop Motion Pro booth at MIFA attracted a lot of attention with a tactile set, puppets, armatures and live software demos. Visitors are always welcome and encouraged to try out the software for themselves. |
 |
| A puppet (above) made by Gilles (below, right) featured silicone hands, replacable mouth, screw type tie downs, clay hair and a wire armature. It proved to be of great interest to students and professionals alike. |
