Get a head start making your animation by watching this tutorial. The video covers the basics of running any edition of Stop Motion Pro version 7.
To get the most out of Stop Motion Pro, we recommend you connect a camera. This tutorial assumes you have a camera with a live video feed connected and working. Tutorials on setting these up are available here
Stop Motion Pro stores your frames and animation on your computers hard drive, not on the camera.
The Stop Motion Pro v7 toolbar - note this is how it appears before you capture any frames.
The onionskinning slider is used to see through the live video to
previous frames. Action HD! and Studio editions of Stop Motion Pro
allow for multiple layered onionskinning.
Onionskinning is a real lifesaver when your character falls over or you bump the camera.
Right click on the capture button to capture in multiples.
Slow down or speed up your animation by adjusting the fps (frames per second) rate. Simply right click on the fps box on the toolbar
The Editor lets you copy and paste frames like a word processor. You can reverse, duplicate and hide frames easily. Access the Editor via the button on the main toolbar.
Resize your video image by clicking and dragging the small triangular corner of the video window.
Right click on the video image for additional options, such as hide and duplicate frame.
