Why won't my webcam work?

Please try the following ( in order)

1. Start up process:

Turn on PC (make sure that Stop Motion Pro is not open, File > Exit if it is)

Plug in webcam

Does the PC "beep" and recognise the webcam?  (if not, then check the manufacturers site for upgraded drivers etc).

Turn off any software that starts up as a result of the webcam being plugged in. 

Start Stop Motion Pro.  Create a new project.  The Capture Settings window will appear.  Select Video /Webcam from the drop down.  Change the size to 320 x 240 or above.

Click Apply.  See an image?


Still no luck?

2. Check with your webcam manufacturer - there are probaby software updates for your camera, even if it is new.  Try to ensure you are running the latest drivers for your camera.

3. Consider a new camera - we love the Microsoft Lifecam Cinema.
